History of the College
The edit governing establishment of ATIKU ABUBAKAR COLLEGE OF LEGAL AND ISLAMIC STUDIES NGURU, formally the Yobe State college of legel and Islamic stidies Nguru was signed in 199 under edit no.9 of 1996, by the military administrator, commissioner of police Dabo Aliyu on 9th April, 1996. But the official announcement to the establishment of the college was done during the second executive Governor of Yobe State in June 1999 together with the appointment of Professor Muhammad Mu’azu And Alh. Alhassan Ibrahim Danjaji as the provost and the Regitrar of the college respectively. The college took off in September 2000 by inheriting the facilities of the defunct WTC Nguru, following the then provision of the national council on education for the gradual phasing out of the teacher grade II programme throughout the country. The college commenced its first academic session by November 2000 on four programmes of study designed under four department with 112 staff strength of both Academic and Non-Academi
